I've been looking forward to seeing this story ever since you mentioned that you were writing Millicent, and I'm absolutely taken with how you've written her here. I go out of my way to find Millicent stories because there's something about her that intrigues me, but it's so rare to find something that has any depth to it, like this one does.

It's striking because it's so real, because it's so genuine an experience for her and for the reader by proxy. Teenagers are complicated, and Slytherin isn't one big happy family, and people do have lives and personalities beyond what Harry Potter sees of them.

It was difficult for me to read in places just because I think I identified too much with her experiences, which is a testament to just how well-written this is. And I admired so much that the changes Millicent went through were internal, not external. We don't know what will happen with Draco, but we know that Millicent is starting to believe in herself enough to enjoy it or endure it, come what may. You took canon and didn't ignore it, but built on it to form a very believable human being.

Which is all to say, I thought this was a wonderfully told story and I'm so glad that you wrote and posted it.
